  • Field Guide: How to Live Your Life the Evil Genius Way

The world can always use a little more writing, editing, and conspiring

Just imagine what you could accomplish with an Evil Genius working on your next project.

Even though I'm an introvert at heart (aren't all evil geniuses?), I prefer social thinking. I get my best ideas in conversation, while running, or out drinking delicious malty beverages.

Make contact, and tell me what's on your mind.

    Good ideas guaranteed.

  • Modern Usage: Words in the Right Place at the Right Time

And other reasons why we should get to the point

Every message must be modern; it must be present and relevant to the needs of the audience and the rhetorical situation.

I use my powers of word-smithing for crafting memorable messages for everything from three-word headlines to book-length manuscripts— and everything in between.

My current specialties (check back often for seasonal selections): publishing, health and beauty, events, cooking and nutrition, technology, fine art and craft, parenting, mid-century architecture and design, non-profit and charity, equestrian, northwest region history and culture, beverage, apparel, and underground lairs.

  • Manual of Style: A Good Editor Will Always Tell You if Your Fly is Down

Editing and proofreading are loss prevention, or they just keep you from making a fool of yourself

No editing job is too complex; everything can be improved. No proofreading job is too short; sometimes, just one last set of eyes is all you need. And my edit can fit into any project's timeline.

I develop project-specific style sheets for complex content situations. Isn't it embarrassing when you realize that the client's new rewards program is referred to in four different ways? Make sure everyone is using, and updating, the same style sheet.

I have been known to do the occasional developmental edit on a full-length manuscript. I don't take it lightly; it's kind of like going steady with your writing.

Make contact with a description of your editing needs.

  • Handbook: Preventing Project Train Wrecks With Grace and Poise

    Life is about managing expectations

And the same goes for project management or communication strategy. Whether gathering talent for your project, synchronizing your organization's messages for maximum timing and impact, or planning the perfect event, I've got the right kind of bossiness skills.

Some projects require a comprehensive 30,000-mile view and others demand extreme close-ups. I'm like a bad-ass zoom lens. I plan editorial content to ensure that your messaging is consistent, refined, and repetitive to the perfect degree. And with over nine years of experience planning everything from lectures to book launch parties, I'm the Evil Genius of big ideas and delegation. Will work for books: I provide book marketing and publicity consultations.

Make contact with your big idea, and let's make it happen.

  • Inside the Mind: Meet Robyn Crummer-Olson, Evil Genius

Because you just never know when diving terminology will come in handy

I went into publishing because I have more book ideas than I can write in one lifetime. Since 2008, I've worked on publishing ideas via the most effective and efficient channels possible—be it websites, events, or books.

I'm currently practicing for my infomercial acting debut as a frustrated housewife who makes even the simplest task look impossible. I live in Portland, OR with my husband, daughter, and the neighbors' disloyal cat. One day I hope to own an Austin Healey Mk III in British Racing Green that I will drive at top speed whilst singing "Turn the Cards Slowly" in the style of Patsy Cline.
